Originally from Minnesota, I began swimming competitively at the age of 6. After a successful highschool swimming career I accepted a full ride scholarship to swim for the University of North Dakota where I was a 16 time All American. While at college I studied Elementary Education and graduated with a teaching degree in Early Elementary Education. After graduation I moved to the Vail Valley and accepted a teaching position at Meadow Mountain Elementary where I taught 2nd and 1st grade. After marrying my college sweetheart, and starting a family, I took some time off to be a stay at home mommy. Two kids and three years later I began working with WECMRD as the head swim coach for the boys and girls Aqua Eagles Swim Team. I continue to coach both the kids swim team and also the adult masters swim program in Eagle/Gypsum. . Both swimming and teaching have always been a huge passion of mine and I really enjoy seeing my students succeed in the water.
Being a mother, I understand the importance of having my child in a warm, safe and caring environment when learning new skills. I take that understanding and apply it to every child I work with in the water. My goal for each and every swimmer I work with is to get them to achieve a sense of being comfortable, happy and safe in the water. With this gained trust it is much easier to attain our goals and see progress.
Thank you for taking the time to visit my website and I'll see you in the water!
